Manager City Development (12 Months)

Exciting Professional Development Opportunity commencing February 2021 

The role:

We have an exciting professional development opportunity available for a Senior Officer. This Manager City Development role is a maternity leave position for a period of 12 months. The role is responsible for leading the Statutory Planning and Building Services functions of Council. This is a critical role in defining the perceptions of Council through its high levels of engagement with residents, ratepayers, the development industry and a broad range of internal customers. The role is supported by a very capable leadership group and will be responsible for providing high quality and timely reports and advice to the Council and Senior Management.

 

You will also provide a key role in supporting the Organisations ‘Towards Exceptional’ Plan and enabling a range of highly motivated teams to continue to enhance service delivery. The major leadership accountabilities of the role are ensuring a contemporary approach to service delivery is fostered and a high focus is placed on maintaining quality business systems to support a dynamic decision-making environment. 

 

About you:

You will have a demonstrated passion and commitment in ensuring the customer is at the centre of service delivery and a strong value set that embraces a workplace that fosters flexibility, diversity and inclusion.

 

With your relevant tertiary qualification in Urban Planning and significant practical professional experience, you also have extensive experience in leading multi-disciplinary teams that administer statutory functions in areas that received significant community.

 

You will also have a strong solution-focused approach to decision making and the ability to utilise your strong analytical and problem-solving skills. You will also have significant experience in supporting a recently elected Council in its decision-making processes associated with Planning Applications.
